Get Well for Eleanor

This card is a get well for my biological mother.  I know that may seem odd to refer to her that way but over the years that's how I learned to deal with it.  I just found out she had another fall and broke a rib.  She loves getting cards from me so I thought I would make her one.  The image is from Karen's Doodles.  I think this little basset is just adorable.  I colored her with copics.  The flowers are from Stampin' Up and I colored their edges to match the card.  The paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  I am entering this in Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Sketch Challenge.  Here's a copy of the sketch; I pretty much followed it exactly:

Thank Heaven for Little Boys

This card gave me a heck of a time tonight.  If you could actually see the card itself it looks like it went through the war.  I had to pull it apart so many times.  Nothing was ever straight no matter how many times I put it together.  I guess I didn't cut straight.  The craft oval around the sentiment I had to cut by hand.  Another disaster.  I had to redo it so many times there is almost no edge left.  Well anyway, it still made it here so it was not a total loss. The image is from Sugar Nellie, the Simply Adorable Collection.  I am in love with this collection.  I just love the look on this little guy's face.  So precious and innocent.  I colored him with copics.  I'm finally learning to do the hair without looking at the color guide constantly.  He is sponged with ColorBox Cat's Eye Fluid Chalk.  Although, it doesn't really show in the photo. The paper is from Stampin' Up. I usually list my copics, but my work area is such as mess I can't figure out which ones I used.  Just one of those days!

Have a Purrfect Day

This is my Guest DT card for Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge Blog, Challenge #55-Stitches.  This image is from Wags 'n Whiskers.  I colored it with Copics.  The paper and ribbon are from my stash.  The fish charm was in a small bag of charms I found at a junk store about a year ago.  I had no idea what I would do with it at the time.  I'm glad I bought it.It suits this card perfectly.

This image is from Digi Doodle Shop.  If you haven't checked out the images there yet, please do.  There are some beautiful digis there.  I love so many I have a hard time deciding which ones to use.  I  knew I had to do this one as soon as I saw it.  My daughter once did a beautiful counted cross stitch picture just like this and it turned out gorgeous.  I absolutely loved making this card.  Seems like my favorites are almost all of animals.  This is my DT entry for Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #60 Anything Goes.  I colored it with Copics and I used a white pen to highlight the eyes.  The paper is A Proper Gentleman from Graphic 45.  I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

May Christmas Card Challenge 2011

So far I'm keeping up with the Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoast.  These are two of the six cards I made for May.  I thought for sure I wasn't going to make it this month,  I've been so busy with challenges.  I had alot of trouble photographing these tonight for some reason.  I'm just too tired to do them over.  They were both made with an old Stampin' Up set I bought at a yardsale.  I really love the ribbon I used on the stocking card.  I bought it about a year ago and never used it.  I thought it was too wide.  When I finally got around to trying it I realized it's actually very soft and flexible.  It tied into a very nice bow.

Hope

This is another image from Sugar Nellie's Simply Adorable Collection.  I colored her with Copics.  the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The seam binding is from Stampin' Up.

I recently tried to change my blog design.  It did not turn out well at all.  I decided to have someone else do it for me, before I wiped out the whole thing.  I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Growing Up is Optional

I created this card for Here Come the Boys Challenge #2 Sketch. I love the idea of having a challenge blog dedicated to the men and boys in our lives. I have always loved this image from Mo's Digital Pencil and finally decided to purchase it.

I colored it with Copics and sponged the edges of the picture with ColorBox Pigment Ink.  I tried to make railroad tracks down the side of the card.  They didn't quite come out as I envisioned them, but they'll do.

Wags 'n Whiskers Princess Blog Hop

Welcome to Wags 'n Whiskers new Princess Collection blog hop.  This digi is called Ballerina Katie.  I just had to choose this one because I have a daughter named Katie.  Katie, by the way, made sure she told me I forgot the comma after Happy Birthday.  Thanks so much for pointing out that little detail after the fact. I decided it was best to leave it alone.  This card was so much fun to create.  I colored her with copics and added gold glitter to the crown and white glitter to her wand.  The beautiful ribbon is hand dyed silk from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I bought it in several color combos. The paper is from K & Company.  Please be sure to leave a comment.  You may have a chance to win the full Princess Digi Collection. (6 digis).  Three collections will be given away in all!  Next stop on the bloghop is :  Mariska and her card using the adorable "Beary Sweet."

I made this card for my Card Exchange Group this month, for which I am running a little late.  The image is from Sugar Nellie.  It’s part of  their Simply Adorable collection.  I colored her with Copics.  A tad too much of the blue-green color, but, oh well, it’s done now.  I still like her.  I'm learning a little more every day about what works and what doesn't!  I just got my flower order from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I just love them.  The paper is from K & Company and the pearls are from Zva.  They make it so easy to apply beautiful sprays.

Happy Birthday Uncle Billy

This is my DT card for Digi Doodle Shop's Challenge #59:  Embossing.  The wonderful image is from Digi Doodle Shop.  It's just one a several antique car digis available.  I had quite a time coloring this.  Boy, did this blue want to run.  I spent half of my coloring time cleaning up the color runs.  I used a Stampin' Up embossing folder for the white rectangle.  It's one of my favorite embossing folders.  I just love the texture.  I needed a birthday card for my uncle this week.  This is ideal.  Hopefully, he will like it.

The Frog Prince

This is a sneak peek at one of Wags 'n Whiskers new princess digis.  Isn't she quite adorable.  I colored her with copics and glittered her crown.  The paper is from a Taylored Expression's Key Ingredient kit.  The silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I tied it with Bow Easy.  The three flowers were handmade.  I really like the way the handmade ones look.  Please come back and join us Friday for the blog hop.  If you leave a comment on Friday's post, you'll have a chance to win the full Princess release.

I finally found some time to work on a card that's for me.  This image is one of the Simply Adorable images by Sugar Nellie.  I have quite a collection of them now; I just haven't had time to do anything with them.  I colored her with copics and added lots of flowers.  The paper is from Julianne.

It's Your Day!

This is my Guest Designer card for Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge 54:  Circles.  The image is, of course,  from Wags 'n Whiskers.  I thought she was really adorable.  I used a cutting outside the die technique for the pinwheel.  That's becoming much easier with practice.  She is colored with Copics.  The paper came from one of the Key Ingredient kits from Taylored Expressions.  It is ideal for this image!

Pink and Blue

This is for Digi Doodle Shop's Best  challenge #58:  Blue and Pink Combo.  I colored this with copics and used glitter on the popped up flowers.  The die is from Nestabilities and the paper is from K & Company.

Ahoy Matey!

This was the first time I've done a monochromatic card.  When I saw that Mo's Digital Pencil's Challenge this week was to make a monochromatic card I almost said forget about entering this week.  I was very intimidated to try.  I figured I'd try anyway and if I hated it, I just wouldn't enter.  I ended up really pleased with the results.  I won't be afraid of doing this type of challenge again.  I chose the Captain Hugh image and it's coordinating background.  I kind of wish I had done the treasure chest also, but I figured I had already used enough brown.  I colored this with copics.  I had some really neat nautical paper in my stash that was ideal.  When I colored the parrot and the lens of the telescope they looked kind of bright against the rest of the card.  I took one of my lightest brown shades and colored over them  It dulled them down quite a bit.
I popped up the letters, Captain Hugh and the parrot on some pop-up dots.  I also found
a really neat feature in my Photo Impact Pro that I didn't know was there.
it is a feature called "lighting".  It looks to me like it's shining a light on just specific areas of my card.  I love it!  I will be using that feature again.  I just hope I can remember where I found it.

Best Friends Rain or Shine

This is my first card as a Guest Designer for Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge Blog.  I will be a guest designer for May, June and July.  I am very grateful that they have selected me for this opportunity!  This image is called "Love You Sis."  I thought it was just adorable when I first saw it.  The current challenge is to use a punch or die.  I colored the image with Copics and the background paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl.  The flower was the first one I ever tried making about six months ago.  I just happened to find it in my stash when I was looking for something yellow to embellish with. I still need alot of practice making flowers, but when I'm off for the summer I'll have lots of time to practice.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

The Soda Shop

I thought this image from Digi Doodle Shop was really great.  I used to work in a soda shop as a teenager so it brought back memories.  This is for Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #57 to work with a sketch (below),  The background paper is from October Afternoon.  The paper I used on the edges is great.  The sayings are so appropriate with the image.  I colored the image with copics and inked the edges with Colorbox Classic Pigment.  Dots were put on the dress with a white pen.  Come on and join our challenge and have some fun and you may win a gift certificate to Digi Doodle Shop!

Flowers for Mom

I am entering this card in Mo's Challenge #80:  Pink and Girlie.  The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  She is colored with Copics.  This is the second time I've used this image.  I like it better each time.  The silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I used my Bow Easy to tie it.  Once I finally figured out how to use it, I don't tie a bow without it.

Super Kid

I was on a real card making binge yesterday.  This is the fourth card I completed.  My daughter had come over to craft and we worked for five hours.  I had worked before that for a few hours alone.  I was so tired last night I couldn't get it photographed, plus I needed to clean up my workspace first and I wasn't about to do that.  This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  She's colored with copics.  I found the graphic for the sentiment in my Word program.  It was ideal.  I plan on making the boy version this week.  Maybe, I can find some Anything Goes challenges to put it in.
